North Stafford High School Mural Unveiling "Traveling through Stafford to North"

We are delighted to share with you the exciting news of the unveiling of the "Traveling through Stafford to North" mural at North Stafford High School on April 4, 2024. This remarkable project was made possible through our collaboration with the Stafford County Museum and Cultural Center to showcase the rich history, vibrant spirit, and boundless creativity of our community.

Curated by the talented Carol Coffman and Larissa Lynch, both esteemed art teachers at North Stafford High School, this mural is more than just a work of art—it's a living testament to the stories and experiences that define us. As students make their way to school, they will be greeted by postcards depicting iconic landmarks such as Aquia Landing, Crow's Nest, and the Marine Corps Museum, each telling a unique story of our community's past and present.

But the mural doesn't stop there. It also features symbols that tie students to the area and the school, including the state flower, the Flowering Dogwood, and the North Orange Roses, representing the beauty and resilience of our region. Additionally, the mural proudly honors one of our own, 2014 North Stafford graduate Joey Slye, whose achievements as a placekicker for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars serve as an inspiration to current and future students.

And let's not forget about their school mascot, the Wolverines, who stand tall and proud at the front of the building, embodying the strength and unity of the North Nation.

What makes this mural truly special is its interactive nature. With space left for seniors to add their own touches in the years to come, it will continue to evolve and grow, reflecting the ever-changing landscape of our school and community.
